Drake is dropping Views From the 6 this
month, and he just amped up the album's rollout with the release of two
new songs today: "One Dance (feat. Wizkid and Kyla)" and "Pop Style
(feat. Jay Z and Kanye West)." Seeing as we're in The Age of Fuckit for
releasing new albums, there's no telling how, why, when, or where we'll
see Views From the 6 in
its entirety. For now, Drake has decided to make his two new tracks
iTunes exclusive. That means you need to have iTunes Music to stream the
whole thing, or fork over $1.29 for each song. Hey, it's better than Tidal. And, hey, it's better than whatever the hell Kanye did.
"One Dance," as you'll probably gather from the title, is Drake's newest romantic club banger. "Pop Style"—which,
again, you'll be able to gather from the title—is his big hip-hop No. 1
radio hit featuring Jay Z and West. This marks the first time all three
have appeared on the same track (Jay Z and West are billed as The
Throne, which is cute). Other fun moments in this song, which is
otherwise huge with the three biggest names in rap on it, are Kanye
saying "Imma let you finish" and the "Perfect" sample from The Life of Pablo. Seeing as his first track from Views From the 6, "Summer Sixteen," is already on Spotify, you can look for these new songs elsewhere soon. April should be a pretty great month for hip-hop, as Chance The Rapper's new mixtape is due out sometime this month. Dream Theater is the twelfth studio album by American progressive metal band Dream Theater, released through Roadrunner Records
on September 23, 2013 in Europe and a day later in the United States.
The album was written, recorded, mixed, and mastered between January and
May 2013 at Cove City Sound Studios in Long Island, New York, the same studio as the band's previous album, A Dramatic Turn of Events.
The band made Dream Theater a self-titled album to emphasize
that they were moving forward in their career and to make it a reference
point for fans. The album's songs are shorter on average than most
Dream Theater songs, with the exception of the 20-minute closer
"Illumination Theory". Strings for the album were arranged by Eren
Başbuğ, a Berklee College of Music student. Dream Theater moved 34,000 units in the United States in its
debut week, charting at number seven and becoming the band's second
highest charting album behind 2009's Black Clouds & Silver Linings. For its lead single, "The Enemy Inside", the band received their second consecutive Grammy nomination in the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category. In early 2014, the band toured Europe and America in support of the album and recorded their performance at the Boston Opera House for a live release.

More proof you don’t need actual skills to score chicks: Israeli researchers recently sent friendship requests from a good-looking guy to 100 attractive, single women. In half the requests, the guy was holding a guitar. In the other half, he wasn’t. Only 5 of 50 women accepted a friendship request from the guitar-less guy, while the man with the axe scored 14 attractive new “friends,” according to the study. The reason: Musical ability is linked to manliness.

You might not make it in the music biz, but your guitar could still help you earn the big bucks: Researchers from Michigan State University found that musicians who picked up an instrument at an early age and continued nurturing their craft throughout adulthood had a better chance of launching successful invention—logging patents, building businesses, and publishing pieces.
9. Build More Brainpower
Stuck at work without your six-string? You’re still giving your brain a workout: According to a Cambridge University study, musicians continue being creative even when they’re not playing their instruments. Researchers found that performers visualize music in terms of its shape, and then process that as a form of practice. Most don’t see it as such, but it’s a highly creative way of learning.
10. Record Yourself, Reward Yourself
Oftentimes, guitarists will record their sessions or demo songs; that way, they can go back and practice them. But bring your recordings to the gym and you might see a physical benefit: Scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Cognitive and Brain Sciences found that music doesn’t just make for solid background noise while working out—it actually made exercising less exhausting for study participants.
